The Life of a Snowflake

The Life of a Snowflake

A Poem by C.J.
"

dont ask

"

The Life of a Snowflake
Born by the freezing of water
The life starts, within a cloud
Hundreds of feet up it begins its journey
Falling so lifelessly.....
Spinning out of control
Drifting in the wind
Falling falling
Until it reaches the softly coated ground
A new soldier in the army of snow
This is the end of its journey
This is the death of a snowflake

CJ, I don't know how many times I sat as a child and tried to catch a snowflake in my hand. It would always melt away and I remember thinking that I had killed the little snowflake my trying to catch it. Your poem brought back all those memories of long ago. I won't tell you how long that has been, but it has been many years. I can still see myself at the age of five frowing at that little wet spot on my finger. You have done a really great job with this piece.

simple beautiful and complete, there's some nice phrasing in this and some good ideas so I'm just going to moan about wanting it to be longer (grin.)

Like looking through the magnifying glass at something that usually goes unnoticed...I almost wish the falling lasted longer...

Yes, a glorios death in the downward charge to its doom... as a corpse rots... a snowflake melts...

Nature I think is always something you can write about because simply you can see it everyday. This was beautiful. Keep writing.
