The Pendulum Falls

The Pendulum Falls

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

Some people keep going back for more despair and pain.

"

Left to right

Right to left

Futility dropping deliberately

Lying in wait

Every passage drops

Weight carried down

Ready to cut deeply

Without careful concern

Flashed of light

On a razor’s edge

Dancing with your fate

Letting cuts transpire

Why stay there

Under a falling fate

An old rusty blade

Known all too well

Unbound to the slab

Yet you return there

Repeatedly giving of

More pounds of flesh

Stoic affections returned

Betrayal kept too close

Letting it sink in slowly

Questioning the stained pain

Again to the pain

Curling into the comfort

Brought by cutting edge

Embracing every pass

Cry not about it

You created this dungeon

Imprisoned yourself

Behind a mask you call love
