Draw a Long Line

Draw a Long Line

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius

Be it pen or pencil
Freehand or ruled out
Place down your hand
Stretch it out far
As the eye can see
Trail into the sunset
An infinite point in space

Plot out solid points
Mark where you are
Where you will be soon
Destinations along the way
Steps of a greater path
Parallel running thick and thin
Perpendicular for a time

Now step upon it
Walk in line with heart
Heel to toe and so
Checking every point
To leave your mark
Without faultered steps upon
Tightrope above the void
