![]() Light Upon the StormA Poem by Wynter Ignatius![]() A direct response to this http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/ARamey/1391107/![]() Few will ring out bells in call, Fearing this port of but single soul, Awaiting comfort in a shared cup, Warmth found in shared song, Raising hails to the bravest travelers. A ship navigates in waters much unknown, Seeking out this rarest of ports, Taking to sea in season of heavy deluge, Bringing needed supplies, Respite few know for the treasure it is. A faint glow so does appear, Piercing the storm with sharp intention, Stabbing through this thick darkness, Yet it brings hope, Brought forth from highest station. Guardian from jagged edged shore, Teeth that would bite the unjustly welcome, Vigilant guide diligently at work, To this safe port, Tucked away so few will ever find. Weathering storm not unlike this one, Washed in salty sprayed winds, Long abandoned by nearby ghosts, Keeping the tower bright, Calming the heart of the one sailing in. Docked despite violently churning seas, Captain and keeper come to finally meet, Regarding each other in deep respect, Embraced in admiration, For in each a need is now so met.
