An Anchor UnchainedA Poem by Wynter IgnatiusFor a friend that is my anchor yet doesn't hold me down or back; absolutely my best friend. Against buffeting winds, the strongest waves, upon softest sea bed, you still me, In all the best ways. Against turbulent storms, the darkest of waters, just off sandy shores, you still me, Keeping me safe and calm. Against the unnamed hurricane, the tenacious force of nature, in deeply hushed waters, you still me, unchained yet always connected. Against troubling surf, the rogue swells, breathless beauty beneath, you still me, compassionate and without judgment. Against the rising tides, the sudden surges, bare to the silky sands, you still me, without cause for fuss. Against unseen tempest, the salty spray, supporting in earnest, you still me, without any expectant need. Against your own troubles, always and in all ways, be it day or night, I'll still you, just as you do for me.
