Entanglement

Entanglement

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

Another one relating to the problems of those around me...

"
Wrapped up slowly on cobblestone walls,
Entwined into every distant weathered crack,
Growth measured in years over the days,
Weaved with care and hold on oh so tight,
For the safety, the comfort and the support,
Deliberately unquestioning of this foundation,
Rooted in deepest hopes and wanton dreams.
But what is the wall suddenly gives way?
Crumbling form neglect and veiled audacity,
Sun no longer warming this beautiful life,
It once assured to be there for in the storm,
Cultivated on what was once there so strong,
Enrichment trickling to the slowest of crawls,
Leading lands to fallow without any efforts.
Is this planting supposed to ensnare our souls?
Implicating lovely hearts in lunacy laden plots,
Intertwined with those we are anchored to,
Snarling troubles choking like quickened weeds,
Snared to something taking of equal nourishment,
Unsettled in this displaced confidence sown deep,
Twisting through this all to find a costless light.
