Where Are You Now?

Where Are You Now?

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

I can not fix but I can relate no matter how good of a friend I may be.

"

Where Are You Now?

She walks on crumbs scraped of doubt,

Devotion guiding her on hopeful enigma,

Given to magnanimous dance graced by folly,

Fixated on a core deeply veiled in its labels.

So she asks where are you now?

Pledged to a masquerade over a soul?

Going through the motions on autopilot,

Just to keep the peace between two hearts.

Her instinctive hunger delighted forever,

On situational pinches edged from oblivion,

Faithful even to grains left in cautious wake,

Magnitude of dust amassed on convenient souls.

So she asks where are you now?

Do our dreams sync or swim on by?

Partner remotely affectionate at the best,

Concerns tipping scales from ardor to coin.

Past flames burning a romantic heart deeply,

Believing ash left over will stoke the fires,

Yet cold to the touch of warm hands devoted,

Haunted past blinding to a close-knit heart.

So she asks where are you now?

A distant reflection of subtle disenchantment?

Feeling lost and afraid for a future unseen,

Crippling with cursory memories as yet etched.

The little things that kill may in turn destroy,

Lest we not address our unfulfilled history,

Laid with sod upon nearly hollow ground,

With plans to build upon a foundation yet built.

So she asks where are you now?

Are you wanting forever or just compelled?

Romance a distant memory of year expired,

Beauty besides seeming less engaging in action.

Bound to limbo between pieces and the whole,

Lingering doubt draining life from bright light,

Doing ones best suddenly not enough for passion,

Deliverance from evil needing a payment in full.

So she asks where are you now?

Are the wrongs forever a roadblock to progress?

Hope on cusp between signing and letting go,

Considering life together a choice already made.

Daily routine leaves a questionable taste,

Coupled to this weight unable to be released,

An anchor of choice my sink this very ship,

Teaming through this not for a single soul.

So she asks where are you now?

Is this too immense for us to fight for now?

This moment in time just above a knife’s tip,

Neither edge dull as we dance upon a sharp point.
