Take Your Fill

Take Your Fill

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

Again, the darkness rides along beside me...

"

Sweet release of tension your only need

Heeding not of warned impending doom

With the scoundrels you will lie before

Wanting more than the offers they sell

Hidden costs overlooked and so ignored

So take your fill of the spunk and scorn

As I sit back overlooked in your mind

Will they help raise your own tomorrow

Listen to your when day has become heavy

Care for you even on your darkest of days

When you want out of your very own skin

Hold you without coitus their only resolve

So take your fill of falsehoods and disregard

As I sit back but a gentleman of your lips

Cloaking yourself in sheets laid down upon

Keep with suitors chasing but promised tail

Spin around a brief revolving door of rapture

Prolonged decline deep into the muck and mire

Masochistic attempt to find your true salvation

So take your fill of abandonment and chicanery

As I sit back and just wonder why you do so

Lots of language in this piece...
with 21 lines and a clutch 7th line in each...
the read is fast-paced...
yet the second stanza seems to linger ---
as the other 1st and 3rd go about the read...
just my take on it...
