My Immutable Truth

My Immutable Truth

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

To my best friend, my kindred soul and go-to for just about anything - Thank you Andrea

"

You were the unexpected

This truth didn’t exist

Outside the space between

You and I

With my attentions turned

Crept away from such

Only to find you

Hand outstretched so

So we talked shop

Exchanged our deepest thoughts

Talked our worries away

Finding innermost bond

Our honesty the standard

So much shared between

Season come full circle

We are closer

This will endure time

Too much to abandon

Confidants through and through

Consoling in trust

Wishing each the best

Distant shoulders in spirit

Each seeing the other

Their better half

Both with flawed pages

Of stories we’ve endured

Sympathetic, caring and inspiring

Our greater selves

She’s my best friend

Knowing better than I

Of this complex man

Than any before

Thank you much dear

For being just you

Letting me be me

Lucky knowing you
