A Genuine StirringA Poem by Wynter Ignatius
Moved me you have
Not many can do so But careful consideration Be a guiding light As I ponder where or If nowhere is the destination Of a mere glance and smile Taking of offerings given Not seeing a reciprocal path Even if not needed Care for number one first Self preservation raised in concern As I wonder what it means Who am I to you truly Words and actions divide Leaving me confused so Lost between wanting and safety Worse than a rock and a hard place With the past looming around Corners leaving me blindsided Touching without lifting a finger Yet to feel alive I continue Sacrifice of self for myself As I walk the unsure path Lead by you unseen, obscured Words cloaking eyes and form Leaving me to think alone Curious to your goals A pawn looking back to his queen Title over function all the same So where are we exactly? You have the only map Which ship did we board? Has it set sail yet or will it? Give me a tangible clue A genuine stiring in infancy To abort, adopt away or abandon I am only as patient as you I am only what you make of me Let the dust settle or utilize me Lest I leap to the void Just to stir the pot hanging below © 2014 Wynter IgnatiusFeatured Review
