SufficientA Poem by Wynter IgnatiusWhen action fails to fulfill you I still gave effort to our pledge Sacrifices both substantial and subjective Miles walked daily to no avail Consumption of kindness vast and jaundiced Diet not keeping in sharred symmetry Endless demands stacked upon incomplete commissions Contact regular pattern from your tasked income No comment upon for which to wait Dinner cold or unfinished at home Tip spent on recklessly abandoned loot Lest I were late one mere cycle of seconds' hand Barage of displeasure breaks civil bone No time to ask of my forgiveness today Infidelity stain still wet when repeated Time not right for words taken to action Villain still me in blackened eyes No tears fall for promise to one Appology unwarranted on note from sincerity Words so empty substance as to deny themselves Fleeing to reside upon the dimes of others Leaking coffers of daily toil of the masses Denial of wrongdoing behind mask of shame Worn with pride and oblivious contemplation Days now with empathy born of guilt Only tether shared soul in procreate Your intrusion tolerated until young is grown Adulthood a ticking clock to expiration Existence in mine eyes forever tied To words unspoken by heart unbroken
