Northern Wind

Northern Wind

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius

Crisp bleached beauties sting upon exposed flesh
Brilliant rapture of the void carves to the bone
Unwelcome kisses bite true morphing lips to a tundra
Incalculable invaders assail randomly inevitable strategy
Innumerable fallen brethren litter landscape abscent voice
Free of burdens of sacrifice with pain delivered in jest
Stealing breath with chasmed coughs and fervored pitch
Strength seeps as if leeched by undernourished maws
Trees naked with silence offering a similarly sorrow retreat
Willing our days into months treated by sodden despair of virgin vigors
Prerogatives snap a cold demand for recompense from the sun

You truly love winter I believe.
You do have a very interesting choice of words. My favorite line here would have to be...
"Trees naked with silence offering a similarly sorrow retreat"
I love the image I get as I look out at a white coated landscape beholding "naked" trees.
Those unwelcomed Kisses of winter...(longing) for the warm kisses of a newfound spring!

Wonderful piece!

It came to me at work randomly - sometimes the most mundane things can lead to things like this.

What a fascinating piece. I love your sentiments!! There is a slight feeling of disjointedness- is that intentional? Your word choice is interesting and helps further the superb imagery. Excellent job!
