Misgivings

Misgivings

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius

Ever present embers stoked by wrath and tears
Anchor clenched tight over ever looming fears

Trepidation chokes thick with muted colors
Broken and alone I call out for my brothers

Pawns slaughter knights whole kings crown queens
Bolt strait to the heart rings true by artificial means

Lies whisper blatantly while truth stands mute
Talks of symmetry flow deep to the root

Words alarm wounded soul barely kept intact
Lonely vices and bound hands are not to detract

Glances of a past future shows transgressions of fate
Grounded hopes not by fuel but rather pilots oh so late

Timid intentions wrought of worldly loyalties spoiled
Breath of morning light stopped short of foiled

Time wears thin yet renders through both flesh and bone
My regrets secured by glass house awaiting thrown stone

You finish with a bang with this poem. I love the imagery- all your poems have excellent imagery, like a collage of pictures flying by.
