OnceA Poem by Wynter IgnatiusSo much of my past comes up here.Just one time, Your pillow, me That February day Eyes teased eyes Touch without regret Just one time, Attempted to sleep Noise above constant Laughed it off Comfortable resting together Just one time, Had to leave Work our bane Warm from contact Three words awaited Just one time, You kissed me Not getting away Lips hugged lips I shouldn't leave Just one time, Saw you off Wave never enough Long time gone Sadness brings return Just one time, Death closed gap Barely saw you Gift adorned you Kiss asked for Just one time, News not ask That you said Time too short Left me happy Just one time, I gave up Hobby to help Get you moved Intent for better Just one time, Limited explanation given Story didn't synch Sudden change made Dust in wake Just one time, No more calls Limited contact now Partially my fault Confusion my sadness Just one time, No words yours Barely a whisper Found someone new Closer of proximity Just one time, Contact now severed Chaotic changes, blame Resort to youth Hidden in time Just one time, I cried again Love I lost Shell of man Broken yet whole Just one time, Happy with you Distance not undue Still feel decidedly Without mutual admiration Just one time, I write down How I feel I love you Despite limited return Just one time, Just one kiss, Just one rest, Just one love, Just too much
