My Mistake

My Mistake

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

Apology in poem form.

"
Love lost to words unspoken
Anger without even a whisper
Time unfolded by idle hands
Tears not binding a wounded heart

How can one fix something
So far from heart and home
Fall so far from heights built
Joy no longer upon your lips

Resolution seems distant
Work needed from us both
Only able to work on me
To be anything for you at all

Sorry can't mend the soul
I can't be a rock every day
Placed upon pedestal too high
Your fall my unwanted design

Can I make you smile again
Hate to see the tears from afar
Scared as you may be about me
I also fear how I feel

I want to be your shoulder
Wet with tears when needed
Yet also that fool for you
Happy to be in your wake

Is this mistake the end
Was it all too much to bear
We may never be the same
But we is where we want to be

Lots of issues drawn in...
the solitude...of this purge...
within each stanza carries forth...
a new design after it...
letting everything out...
in the open...
