Counting

Counting

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

My ex-girlfriend and I were a long distance relationship - strains can be multiplied.

"
150 odd days,
But who is counting
So long for love,
Since I saw your beautiful face,
Held your hand in mine,
Kissed your lips,
Or layer next to you for a short rest

Rare is the treat of your voice
Even if only by phone,
I would live to see you daily,
If hindrance and circumstances would leave us

If absence makes the heart grow fonder,
Then what will our live be when we are close again?
So many things to say and do,
Each day we are just a bit closer to that day

I hope to not have another 150 odd days,
To count till I gaze upon you again,
Together more than in spirit,
I wait for that day as I did,
The day after we last saw one another,
Loving you always and in all ways
