Where Have You Been

Where Have You Been

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

Another one about an old friend and confidant that is no longer in my life.

"
It's been half a decade, maybe more
Since I last found you at my door
Gone so long, off to a distant shore
Away so long, so far from my core

Curious as to why now you call
Something I missed, a distant hall
I hope at least you gave it your all
Kept things together, never a fall

So where have you been all these years
What has life brought you; joy or tears
Living it mostly abroad, without fears
Reflections on life like a room full of mirrors

Is a rebirth, a beginning of an end
For heart and will they will not bend
Messages left empty, unable to send
For have time for me again my friend

So tell me all the things I do not know
Show me things you want to show
We can take things easy, in slow-mo
Moving like water, wherever we flow
