Mitigate

Mitigate

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

My ex-wife has always attempted to be actually more friendly to me after our separation and divorce than during our marriage; too much information comes to mind.

"
I don't really care
What you do with your hair
Not even if you're sick
I know I sound like a dick

You left me for her
You said you were sure
I wanted you back
Even with the flack

Tired nights and angry glances
With you I took my chances
Gave you more than I should
Every day I knocked on wood

Greener pastures you had found
Even if to me your love bound
Claim that I was the bad guy
Yet not a single tear in your eye

I felt so used and abused
For you I was recused
Then I a wonderful love
That does not push and shove

Tired of you and your games
Dealing with you and your old flames
Your nosy friends and their views
Towards you always skewed

So have your new life
Despite desire to be my wife
Have you new circle of friends
This is how our story ends
