![]() For You AloneA Poem by Wynter Ignatius![]() Once again for my ex-girlfriend. Distance between us was growing and I attempted to keep things on track with my words.![]() Pain That is the start of it all Odd place for this kind of story But we can not deny our past We can only look to our future Time It heals all wounds they say I tend to agree But you came along a sped it all up Odd thing is, I never asked you to Amazing I was so ready to settle Dig into the life of solitude While we knew one another before Something sparked between us like none other before Fear Something we both had about it Only words between us Physical proximity a crux Then we saw one another for the first time Comfort We were like old friends catching up As if it were just a few months back Years have passed before our eyes Many more years we can share Love We both have said it before At times we may have thought they deserved it Now we know better Scars we both can help the other heal Close Only once have I held you Yet it felt so right We had a night of laughs and great time We slept as the the world woke to the sun Goodbye Something I never want to say to you Nor hear passes from your soft lips An obligation I can not ignore I will see you again my muse even if only in thought Distance Or shadow we still carry Helpless to change circumstance The only barrier left after fear was washed away Soon to be no more
