Another TorchA Poem by Wynter IgnatiusI've always like this one even if it is about my ex-wife. I would love to see someone musically inclined put this to music some day as it feels like it could be a song.Another bridge you burned Watching gleefully like Nero Just so you can complain about it later Weep over the ashes Of your own contempt All the while lighting another torch Just to see what you can burn Twisted knives in the backs Of lovers and dear friends No regard for consequence or undo harm Another thing for you to bring up Crying wolf to your own handiwork All the while lighting another torch Just to see what you can burn Smile and nod to everyone near Spit and lie when backs are turned Judging others while proclaiming your innocence Victim to your own craft Washing off the blood to point out another All the while lighting another torch Just to see what you can burn Memories just another tool In your bag of deceitful tricks Anything you can do to get the next piece of dirt Damage done, your words the trigger Evidence pointed to you all along All the while lighting another torch Just to see who you can burn Gasoline in hand, lighter in pocket Take a drive just to get started Claiming all along drama is not your forte All the while being waste deep in fifth You'll play any angle to come out clean All the while lighting another torch Just to see what you can burn So just light another torch Light up the night with lies Your true self unable to disguise
