Loss of Shadow

Loss of Shadow

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

Wrote this after I found out my second wife was cheating on my and had already made plans to leave me.

"
I lost my shadow
That dreary September day
Or so I thought
Melancholy my mood
Scared to be alone
Saddened by loss
Arms of another
Stole my light
Darkness already in motion
Two years before
Faltering of a candle
Losing the flame
Nearly burned down
Feeling near nothing
Blind to the change
Chilled room echoes
Distance from the source
Tired of the games
Wanting something more
Then new light
Vibrant and pure
Despite some use
A radiant beauty
Warms my heart
Soothes my soul
Found shadow again
Stronger than before
Built of light
Reflection of love
A welcome change
No longer haunted
By my past
Bathed in warmth
No longer afraid
Future so bright
I shadow you
You shadow me
