Hold My HeartA Poem by Wynter IgnatiusAnother poem wrote for my ex-girlfriend.
Always have I been a romantic
Torment of my heart and mind Twice has this soul tried to find Every time a bit more frantic Please, is this a start? Beautiful I do find you Artist, poet, muse and more I find you in me down to the core Before you I feel I had no clue Please, hold my heart Both of us used and abused Suffering in our searches for love Sometimes earthy, sometimes above With you I am no longer confused Please, you are so smart Distance our barrier at this time I want to comfort you when sick, hold you when sad Make you happy, keep you from being mad A situation compounded; unable to drop you a dime Please, I will hold your heart Longing to hold you tearing me apart Never before has separation been so rough Being near you I can not have enough With you I truly found my new start So please, hold my heart I want to help you, be your hero As I pull myself together, get things strait I find my soul open to new things, less hate But for now you are stuck with a zero Please, may I hold your heart This much I can promise you To listen, comfort, help, cherish, and love To never ignore, spite, insult, strike, or shove Unlike your last; without a clue Please, I want to heal your heart Time moves so slowly while you are away Counting minutes, hours, and days down Last I was with you, rarely a frown If I ask nicely next time, would you stay? Please, I implore you, hold my heart © 2014 Wynter Ignatius |
