Broken Boy

Broken Boy

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

Another one about my son. I see more of him struggling with the divorce now than I did two years and that scares me a bit.

"

Your world torn asunder
Scant five years of knowing your place
Not you fault
Not really any one person to blame
Mistakes made by all
You the unintended victim
Unable to express my your anger and frustration
Vernacular still under construction
Things turned upside-down
Your heart is pulled in so many new directions
Don't know where to turn
Every day new challenge you should have never known
Broken yet whole
Shattered yet able to hold
Things that can not be changed
I will try to fill the holes
I will try to repair the breaks
I will try to mend your wounds
I will try to cover your scars
I want my boy broken no more
