Joe

Joe

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

This is one of the first poems I ever wrote years ago - simple ode to my beverage that keeps me going most days

"

My morning mistress, even if well known
Opener of my mind, comfort to my soul
Aroma clears my head, sets me in motion
Happiness in a cup, so dark and strong
Acquired taste, slightly bitter yet wonderful
I may rise absent you, rarely will I wake though
I raise my cup, taking you in
Warmth and energy, I am rarely me without you
