Blue-green eyes stare back blankly
Self-doubt in all too familar form Hands upon brow leave marks of red Words unspoken yet dripping with debate Actions and words pondered with hasty innocence Sands of time refuse to flow forward for duration Judgement deferred by jury of hung peers Yet it continues unabated and still Gears turn in endless cycles of increasing heat Oceans well in corners of these weary eyes Sting gives credence to reality outside this form Heart beats with erratic pulses tuned to thoughts Savoury and sweet meets sinful and bitter Composure and breakdown a handshake away Weathered pattern of this weave before Even if fabric feels different upon the skin Breath slowed in this controlled hatter's convention Walk away as reflection does also so proud This introspection garners its own momentary solace © 2014 Wynter Ignatius |
