Fossils in the ForestA Poem by WunderlichWrote this a few days ago. Eh.
I'm not looking for love
I'm looking to get lost This forest is full of fossils I'm not looking for change I'm looking to escape This world is worn by the dead I'm not looking for north I'm looking to be born Buried beneath the dirt like bones And no one leaves this forest In one piece They leave behind their bodies Like dead leaves I'm not looking for help I'm looking for a shell This time solidifies my mind I'm not looking to feel I'm looking to forget what's real This forest is the only world I know And no ones sees past these trees Too clearly They push against the foreign sun To protect the shadows of their sons I'm neck-deep in the ground but still young The roots wrap around my limbs Pulling me down it's finally done I can sleep in peace in this fantasy This forest of fossils that everybody needs © 2010 WunderlichReviews
