Cold, Cold Circle

Cold, Cold Circle

A Poem by Wunderlich
"

I wrote this after listening to the Modest Mouse song "The Cold Part".

"

I see the cold part
The ice on the lake
I can see my reflection
But I know it's all fake

I see the warm part
The green leaves on trees
I can smell the oxygen
And I want to breathe

I see the dark part
The pills in my hand
I can taste their bitterness
But I'm still damned

I see the bright part
The light on the pond
I can see the fish swimming
My negativty's gone

But I'm walking in a circle
Staggering with every step
I end up in the cold part again
I breathe, and my lungs freeze
I should be happy
But I'm buried in snow

I think this is my favorite writing by you. I listened to the song, I can totally feel the connection while I was reading it at the same time. I get inspired by music the same way.
