Inability to Swim

Inability to Swim

A Poem by Wunderlich
"

Swimming.

"

Blue and green
Swallow me
Vicious sea
Devouring

Salt and sand
Assault me
Lungs gasping
Frantically

The beginning
Now accepting
My ending
Cycle closing

Curse this anxiety

Crashing waves
Without regard
Drag me down
To the bottom
I try to swim
But I just can't
Everytime I take a breath
In the ocean's pleasant air
I suffocate and fall back down

Surfers paddle out past me
Without a glance they keep on going
