Big Ideas and Stupid Smiles

Big Ideas and Stupid Smiles

A Poem by Wunderlich

I had to resubmit this so I'd be able to add a picture for it ._.

"

Oh, let's open up to the big city ways
Watch the money pour in as our souls wash away
Let's light a cigar and buy a mansion on a farm
If you don't mind, I'll go sleep outside
On the grassy hill right next to the mall
Resistance is futile, now watch the skies fall

Oh, let's spread our legs to the big city ways
Watch the nights slowly take over the days
Let's douse our souls in gasoline
Give the hookers and pigs all of our money
If you don't mind, I think I'll sleep outside
Cover my ears because the nights are so alive
And the days are so dry, slowly slipping by
Till the whole town dies

Well they came here with big ideas and stupid smiles
They thought they could buy us out in a little while
Well they came here with big briefcases of money
I'm sad to say that those very same people now own this county

I Really like this. So much feeling, yet something that is not just a personal feeling. I would also like to know where your insparation for this came?

I really enjoy this poem. I'd just like to know what inspired you to write it. Was your city turned into a corporate wasteland?
