Front Page Beauty

Front Page Beauty

A Poem by Wunderlich
"

I was inspired to write this after reading J. Black's poem "Magazines Kill."

"
You're so, beautiful
Your touch, is so cold
Your eyes, pretty sight
Your soul, an empty hole

Perfection is perception of an individual
Universal publications of this are so shallow
Conformity to magazines is nothing that we need
Impressionable misunderstood targeting the weak

Physically aesthetic yet so mentally abhorrent
Powerful epidemic spreading anorexia
Pleasing to the eye and easily forgetting the mind
Revolting and repulsive and undyingly repelling

The beauty of the cover over the emaciated pages
What you see is what you get and what you get is nothing but s**t
