Sharks and Pilot Fish

Sharks and Pilot Fish

A Poem by Wunderlich
"

I conceived this idea whilst on large amounts of dimenhydrinate. I can't stand how some people obsess over hollow celebrities.

"

There's something about the way she walks

The noticeable satisfaction that she possesses
A sense of accomplishment follows in her wake
An innocent vapor trail gorged with undeserved pride
Open eyes see this trail that obscures the truth
A noxious beauty shrouds your underlying abhorrence

Warped minds and shallow souls stand in line
A riot pulsating in the clouds in the sky
The weak and meager anticipate your arrival
The obsessive dead clinging to your picture

Desperate, eyes straining to get a peek,
They pull themselves forward in your aesthetic façade
Breathing through gas masks, clawing through crowds

Pathetic, hands stretching to grasp your dress,
They scream for attention in thralls of your fumes
Snarling through thin paper, dying for a touch of your deception

You're so beautiful
So natural
Like a nuclear winter
Poisoning those who are swept away with ease
Disgusting those whom you fail to deceive
A synthetic mask, now a synthetic face
If there was ever hope in bringing you back
It's been buried beneath the plastic

Author's Note

Wunderlich
The first verse was originally written whilst on a dimenhydrinate trip, but I recently fixed some problems with it. Below is the original stanza, before I applied my sober mind to it:

There's something about the way she walks
The noticeable satisfaction that she possesses
A sense of complication follows in her wake
An innocent vapor trail gorged with unndeserved pride
A colossus sees vapor trail that obscures the truth
The hounds become varied interested with the foxes

Yes! I agree. It's strange how we idolize people who are exactly the same as us. They just choose to share their lives with world. Great write; I love how you fill up your lines with thoughtful words instead of getting right to the point. It adds a lot to the poem.

favorite lines in this piece. Love how you always pull a message in your writing, you think one way and then BAM ello! Here's what it meant! Another well penned piece!
