Soulless

Soulless

A Poem by Wunderlich
"

Wrote this in like... five minutes or so.

"

Infinitesimal ripples disturb the surface of the pond
So insignificant, they dissipate in seconds
The brisk wind chills the water
More ripples are born
More ripples die
The yellow and red leaves, trying so hard to be vibrant,
Remain insipid and uninspiring
All of this plays out in the mirror of my eye
Languid, lethargic, apathetic

Took a picture of myself
Took three more just to be sure
Everytime it was an empty result
A callous thought was all it stole

Sitting on a pallid sofa, adorned with dirty flowers,
I lean toward the splintered table to my right
My hair hanging down, masking my face
So close to the thin line of humanity
A dirty straw placed against my nostril
The other end placed against the rocks
So pure, so whole
Insufflating a soul

Your description paints a very vivid, very beautiful picture; yet it still flows beautifully. Great job!
