Days Gone By

A challenging poem to write

 

Hopelessly fantasizing in my mind

Carelessly letting my thoughts wander

Freely weaving back to a time

Of days gone by in dreams I ponder

Those happy times in endless ways

When merry visions were soft and sweet

A child drifting through life’s maze

Running wild with worries not

Playing innocent truth or dares

Relishing treasures I might find

These pleasant memories I recall

Hopelessly fantasizing in my mind.
