Old Ghost town in Utah

Jacob City

Quietly it had thrived for years,

But the patrons have all gone,

It saw laughter, it saw tears,

Now It stands in shadows all alone,

The treasure of this mining town,

For many it spelled wealth,

Then came the day the mines closed down,

Miners left with the hand they were dealt,

Against weather and Father Time,

The old hotel remained standing,

There is no reason, there is no rhyme,

Why they called it; Jacobs Landing,

Made from logs and two stories high,

It was the pride of this mountain town,

Then one day, nature took its course,

And the grand hotel came tumbling down.

Empty mines, memories and ashes,

Oh, now it seems such a pity,

And it’s sad that’s all that passes,

For what’s left of Jacob City,

i can see myself wandering thru Jacob City absorbing the essence of what once was, for even in its lonely state, still lingers a story in the air waiting to be told.
