Another Star in HeavenA Poem by TraceA poem for my Step Father in Passing September 23, 1923 - February 17, 2016Another Star in Heaven
As dawn beckons the rising sun, each morning starts anew We count our many blessings, or stormy winds that blew,
Our lives are given to the Earth, yet of which they came Though our souls are a gift of Heaven, A star without a name
We choose our paths and lift the cross, burdens we must bear And weave in to our tapestry, friend’s sorrows we might share
Yet when our time on Earth is done, our pains and sorrows quell On Angel wings our spirits glide, with a heavenly chorus swell
Come evening a new light shines, its brilliance we recognize For our dear departed loved ones, are the brightest stars in the skies. © 2016 TraceAuthor's Note
