Starlight DesiresA Poem by Tracea continuation of a "Henry Van Dyke" poemWith two bright
eyes my star my love, Thou lookest on
the stars above: Ah, would that I
the heaven might be, With a million
eyes to look on thee, {“Starlight” by
Henry Van Dyke} With lips that whisper; be mine my love, Thou beckon for a twinkling of Wishes of one whomst thou requires, Would that you heed these starlight desires,
And, with a voice that sings of love, Thou summons to those stars above, Ah, that the heavens could hear your song, T’would bless this union for a whole life long,
With hearts as true and full of love, We make a pledge to the stars above, And in that vow; heaven’s soft sighs A million reflections in your bright eyes.
First verse is the poem: “Starlight” by Henry Van Dyke,
next three verses are mine, inspired by the
first. © 2015 TraceAuthor's Note
