MAYDAY! MAYDAY! MAYDAY!A Poem by Tracemine dump collapse,,,, Driver survived ordeal. It’s been said that an angel watches over our mine Whether that’s true or not, who’s to say But one driver is thanking the powers that be For saving his life that fateful Sunday,
Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing different or strange But on this night the dump started to crack And without warning the bottom fell out For his truck there was no turning back
Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! Went out over the air And the E.R.T’s answered the call With fear in their hearts of what they would find How could anyone survive that fall?
But a simple thing called a safety belt Pulled tight round that driver is said To have saved his life, as the truck tumbled down Without it, he could have been dead,
Now he has a tale to tell his family and friends Of the most harrowing experience that day It’s been said that an angel watches over our mine Whether that’s true or not, who’s to say. © 2015 TraceAuthor's Note
