The Nineteenth HoleA Chapter by TraceOne of the unexpected pleasures found on the golf course
I met her there by the ball washer
She looked to be confused
I’m new to the game, would you show me how
I smiled and acted amused,
It really is quite simple
Clean your balls before you play
Then dry them and inspect them
You will enjoy them the rest of the day,
She looked quite shocked and flustered
Blushing at what I was talking about
So I unzipped my bag and pulled out a pair
To leave her with out any doubt,
She laughed and said; would you like to play a round
For I do not have a partner
When she smiled at me, in her expression I could see
That my game wouldn’t be the same without her,
Then to my surprise, just as I started to swing
She bent down to place her T
I could hardly believe what her short skirt revealed
And I shanked it for the whole world to see,
Do you golf for fun or should we make this exciting
What would you like to play for?
Well she was game, and she came to win
Because she planned on keeping score,
I must admit, she made it quite hard
Each time she tee’d up her ball
I couldn’t help but look, at that hazardous trap
Would we play all the way through after all?
But I am no quitter and I made her work
For every hole she got
And in the end she let me win
I scored on the very last shot,
A deal is a deal, and she promised to pay
Though I’m quite sure that was her goal
We found our way to a wooded rough
And I drove the nineteenth hole.
