The GiftA Poem by TraceOpen carefullyNobody knows where it came from But it was there on Christmas day Underneath the lowest tree bows And gently tucked away,
Pretty ribbons and bows were
absent The package was modest and plain Wrapped in white linen and tied
with a string Where it came from, no one could
explain,
On the package was a simple note It read: This gift is for everyone But nobody wanted to open it Afraid it would spoil their
holiday fun,
So it lay there alone and ignored Until Christmas had almost passed Then I picked up the little gift box “I think I’ll open this at last”,
As I pulled away the wrappings And looked in without much care My eyes were amazed at what I beheld T’was the Christ child lying
there,
I heard a Joyous choir singing Radiant beams of light did shine I knew this was the love of Jesus Heavenly Fathers Gift divine,
For He so loved the world That He gave His only begotten Now I pray the true Gift of
Christmas
Will not be so easily forgotten. © 2014 TraceAuthor's Note
