Chapter Four

A Chapter by Bunny

After a minute or so, Snow pulled away and smiled at me. My cheeks were bright red, I knew it, though she didn't mind. She gently cupped my cheek in her hand as she just looked at me. My heart was pounding in my chest like a freight train, and Snow gently placed her hand over my heart before she moved my hand over her heart. Her heart was pounding just as quickly as mine. I smiled and closed my eyes as I rested my head on her shoulder. She leaned down a little and kissed my temple softly.

"Your lips are soft. It's nice. They are very lovely," she whispered in my ear. She gently picked me up and wrapped my legs around her waist so that she was holding me. I yelped softly and shook my head, closing my eyes tightly. "Trust me."

I nodded a little and took a deep breath, allowing her to carry my to the shallower end of the lake. She hummed softly to me as she carried me. I smiled a little as I looked at her, biting my lip a little. Shivering, I rested my head on her shoulder once again, holding onto the memory of how she smiled at me.

"You're so cold. Honey, let's go into the lake house," she said. I nodded a little as I let her lead me to the lake house. Humming softly, we walked in and got changed back into our clothes the cuddled near the fire. Snow wrapped her arm around my waist, pulling me closer. I smiled at her and wrapped my arms around her, burying my face in her neck. She giggled and bit her lip. After a while, she pulled me into her lap and cradled me there.

"You spoil me. Really, you do," I said. She laughed and nodded. She always made sure she spoiled me. We always talked for long times while we went on long walks.. She always listened to what I said. I loved her so much. She always understood what I meant when I said something completely different.

She kissed my temple as she hummed softly to me, rocking me back and forth. I wrapped my arms around her and yawned a little, my eyelids starting to feel heavy. She kept humming and rocking me as I curled up in her arms. Slowly, I closed my eyes and fell asleep while I held onto her. She smiled and kept rocking me while she hummed, staying up until about three AM before she knew I'd sleep well. We curled up together in front of the low fire, sleeping peacefully.

I woke up to a short, gentle kiss. Blushing a little, my eyes fluttered opened as I smiled up to see Snow sitting over me. She smiled at me and brushed some hair out of my eye. Taking a few breaths and stretching, I listened around us. My joints cracked and popped, causing her to laugh a little. Other than that there was silence. Pressing my lips together, I tried to figure out what I smelled. Arching an eyebrow slightly, I looked at her. She laughed and stroked my cheek. I sat up and hugged her tightly, staying there for a minute before I got up to investigate the smell. I walked to the kitchen and took a deep breath. Arching an eyebrow, I turned to look back at Snow.

"Breakfast. I made toast and orange juice and some cereal. Is there something wrong?" She asked, her eyes wide as she got scared she did something wrong. I shook my head as I hugged her tightly. She hugged me back, seeming surprised. I stayed close to her, closing my eyes. After a few minutes, I pulled away.

"Nothing is wrong. You made me breakfast. Honey, it's perfect. I wasn't expecting you to make me breakfast. Thank you," I said. She blushed a little and smiled as she nodded. Obviously she was surprised by my reaction though she liked it. We say down together and ate our breakfast. When it was done, she got up and took my dishes before I could argue and started to wash them. I came behind her and rubbed her shoulders gently. Once she was done, we went home while holding hands, talking quietly amongst ourselves. When we got home, we sat in my room painting pictures together. I laughed when I got purple paint in Snow's hair. She got me back by painting black whiskers on my face. This went on until I had whiskers and a purple heart on my cheek and Snow had a rainbow over her nose and a red star on her forehead. She gently leaned forward and kissed me, just a quick kiss though my face got really red. Laughing, she took pictures of me. Once we were done, we went to the bathroom and washed our faces. Finally clean, we sat in my room and talked quietly. I wrote and Snow drew pictures, and occasionally we'd stop and switch to look over each others' work.

"I like the features of this last one. It's really nice," I said. She smiled as she handed me my stories back. I arched an eyebrow to ask why she was smiling.

"They were based off your features, love. Most of my drawings are. You're so beautiful I can't help it," she said, smiling at me. I shook my head as I blushed and hid my face. She laughed and kissed my temple before she started to draw again and I started to write some more. After a little bit, Snow got up and I looked at her, wondering what she was doing. She kissed the top of my head and smiled. "I'm gonna go take a walk. I'll be back in a little while."

I nodded a little as she walked out, blowing her a kiss and then going back to writing. I didn't realize it but hours passed by. Looking up, I wondered why she wasn't home yet. Frowning, I got up and walked around the house, wondering if she fell asleep on the couch or something. Sighing when she was nowhere to be found, I put on some shoes and a jacket as I went to go look for her. I looked for about an hour before I had to go inside. I just figured she'd come back later. I ate and then took a shower before climbing into bed. After a few hours of squirming around restlessly, I fell asleep. Then next morning, I awoke and loved over at Snow's bed. When I saw she wasn't there, I got a little worried. Getting out of bed, I searched the house and hoped that she was there. When I couldn't find her, I called her cell phone, praying she'd answer. Right before it went to voicemail, she answered. I strained to hear what was going on. A strange man's voice was easily heard.

"Your precious little girlfriend will come running to save you."

"She's not my girlfriend and you leave her alone!!"

"If she's not your girlfriend why do you care about her?"

There was silence and I knew she was in trouble. Quickly, I went to my computer to trace her phone's location. Pressing my lips together as I waited for it to tell me, though the man's chilling voice filled my ears.

"Rayne, I know you're listening. I have Snow and if you want to see her alive, meet me at the lake house at midnight. Come alone or your precious Snow might just turn into lake water."
