The Logomancer

The Logomancer

A Poem by Writing Walter
"

About the magic of the word

"
A master of words, a master of sound
A master of language, all around
Pen and tongue swift as a dancer
That’s why I’m called the Logomancer

My magic’s not flashy, indeed it’s quite subtle
It’s one of stories and rhymes and rebuttal
My pictures are ones only you can see
My art, yes, it stays between you and me

Everyone sees a different thing
And has another song they can sing
It’s not what you see, it is what you feel
That’s the Logomancer’s appeal

Ten thousand eyes, at a picture they look
It’s the same thing in everyone’s book
But if they read the things that I write
A different outlook for each I provide

The eyes are easily pleased, but the mind?
Oh, be assured that’s another kind
Of art and of craft you have to employ
That’s why I made language my toy

Words are the basis of what people think
Your mind needs them as much as your throat needs a drink
And if you’re lost for words, if you need an answer
Take out paper and pen, call the Logomancer
