Weight

Weight

A Poem by Insatiable Writer
"

Wishing to feel weightless, to be rid of the emotional, mental weight residing within.

"

It is as though the weight of time

does not fully dissipate,

As I lay here in wait,

a glimmer of hope still residing,

that this pain one day

will come to subside in

my mind and my chest,

that one day I’ll be met with true

weightlessness.

I feel this deeply- knowing that everything would be so much easier if you could just get rid of all the emotional weight, and hoping for ways to do it. The line about time not fully dissipating is so true- it feels like it settles in your chest and becomes part of you, and you get weightier as the years go. It’s such a real feeling you expanded in this poem, a subtle one but one that’s always there and definitely apart of growing up. This was written with a passionate but classical flair that I loved and I can’t wait to read more of your work!

I've been feeling that for the past few months. The guilt that I feel over what I did, and the fact that I don't think I'll ever make things right.

I like that you have something to say, something on your mind but you manage to depersonalize it so that others can share the emotion. Well done.
