Strange Green Eyes

Strange Green Eyes

A Story by Writing Rabbit

There once was a girl, a very short girl, with short black hair and strange green eyes. One day, this very short girl with short black hair and strange green eyes suddenly had to grow up. She was expected to know what she was going to do even though this young girl with strange green eyes just wanted to be a writer. She was told by many that it was simply impossible to become a writer so her one and only ambition was shredded into micro pieces.

This girl with the strange green eyes, started to notice things. Her friends, once joyful and full of smiles, complained about unavoidable things. The girl noticed how everyone was being more cautious of their looks and who they talked to. Soon, the girl with strange green eyes, was abandoned because she wasn't interested in most of the things that happened. All she wanted to do was joke around and laugh again.

The sad, lonely girl with the strange green eyes was then teased by her peers. No one understood why she was alone, why she spent her time in a tattered journal, and why she kept her head down. The truth is, the girl with the strange green eyes was unbearably lonely and didn't have anyone to go to.

Just as the girl with the strange green eyes was about to write the note that ended it all, a boy with beautiful blue eyes showed her the many wonders in life. Did you know that french fries dipped in a chocolate milkshake was beautifully sweet and salty? Or that looking at the stars on the roof with another felt amazing and special and had the hint of promise? Oh how the boy with the beautiful blue eyes showed the girl with the strange green eyes many things that only two people can experience.

Then, just as the girl with the strange green eyes was going to be throwing away the note that would end it all, there was a phone call. The boy with the beautiful blue eyes had died. The boy the girl was always with, the boy that gave the girl purpose, the boy who had showed the girl promises and unimaginable things, was no longer on our earth. Now, the girl with the strange green eyes had a decision to make.

If I let the note sit on the table, and do what I was going to do years ago, all of my pain will go away. I'll the see him and I'll be happy again. No more pain...

If I go on with my life, the pain will still be with me but isn't that how life is? Is taking my own life worth it? Would he want me to do this? I think he would want me to continue on and be happy. There will still be pain, but it would get better later on...

The girl, as sad as she was, decided that taking her own life wasn't going to solve anything. Nothing would have gotten better because she would have eliminated the chance of things getting better. If the girl with the strange green eyes were to take her own life, how would the remainder of those who loved her react? That's right. They would suffer. They wouldn't know what to do, now that part of their world was gone.

Suicide is not the answer. It is something to do when someone isn't brave enough to face the situation.

Now, beautiful reader, what will you choose in your dark times full of anguish?

Author's Note

Writing Rabbit
I told this story to a friend in mine who was about to commit suicide. She told me that after hearing this whole story, she was happy that she didn't go through with it because even though there was hardships in life, she didn't want to end it because that was how life was and that she wanted to share the experiences she had with other people. I hope this helps those who are trying to get through tough times.
