She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

A Poem by Erin
"

love hurts more than hate

"
We were sitting by the water
And its gentle soothing sound
Our hands were intertwined
My head on your shoulder

There was something that I had to tell you
But that moment was so perfect
Couldn't I hold on for one more day?

Tears welled in my eyes
I let go of your hand
I hung my head low
And hair covered my face

You pushed the hair from my eyes
And reached back for my hand
I pulled away and cursed myself

I watched a leaf float down the creek
And the birds sang in the distance
I wrapped my arms around my legs
And let my silence answer the unspoken question

You whispered my name as a tear fell down your face
And I cried and hardly dared to breathe
You sighed and dropped a flower in the water

Three petals were missing
And three remained
I wonder which you started on

No matter where you ended
Know the answer will forever be
"She loves me"

I pray you know that I love you
I pray that you hate me now.
Because love hurts more than hate.

Beautiful ! I certainly agree to the fact that love hurts more than hate, but without love, we wouldn't exist.
You know how the drive a poem and paint a picture out of it in the reader's mind !
I really enjoyed it !!!
