I'll Dream of My LifeA Poem by ErinDreams for tomorrow.
At night I lay in my bed
Dreams will sweep me away to their land In their land my dreams will come true. I sing my heart out, all alone on that stage. Every eye is upon me, every ear is listening. My resonant voice filling the theatre Always the strongest alto in choir. I stand before a class of small children I point to the notes written in white "Do, ra, me, fa," I have them repeat after I I wonder how many of them are musicians to be. I sit with my choir on the steps of a building So far from home are we now! I've made it to the top choir I've made it to the European tour. I hug my baby My beautiful child Smile at my spouse as the child laughs The first of our rather large family. In the morning I open my eyes The dreams disappear as fast as they came. I'll live through this day and dream of tomorrow, Every time I close my eyes I'll dream of my life. © 2012 Erin |
