A Missing Key

A Missing Key

A Poem by Erin

A dream in my world

A missing key

A young girl’s dream

A world of false fantasy.

An old picture book of a world that once was

A room bathed in a candle’s light

A window that looks out to nothing.

A young girl all alone

Trapped in the half-minded fantasy

A princess locked in her own tower

Waiting for a prince that never will come.

Stuck in a room of rainbows and butterflies.

Locked in a room of false cheer

She is a prisoner of her own dreams

What will it take to set her free?
