Surreal Prison

Surreal Prison

A Poem by Erin

Where hair is long

Where stakes are high

Where there is no such thing as a final goodbye

This is my faerie tail prison

Holds me captive in my dreams

Trapped in a surreal vision

Where nothing is ever as it seems

“Off with her head!” is screamed day and night

And a house made of candy is just out of sight

An innocent walk in the forest could be deadly today

Where in the woods could a little girl stay?

Prince Charming isn’t all that you think

But without him, you’ll be poisoned in a blink.

A prince is a prince after all

Everyone knows that a princess can’t stand tall.

Waving wands, with a few magic words

Tales of love and tales of lore

They live in my sweet, faerie tail prison

Attracting victims ever the more.
