Only Human

Only Human

A Poem by Writers_Block

no matter how bright my features shine

and no matter how fast i live my life

i hold the ability to stop on a dime

not because i find my pockets light

but, becomes i stop to admire change

I wont run but I'm on the right track

I'm 5 foot something,brown but considered black

I'm only human, there's nothing super about that

i  make mistakes like the next, and just like the next, i only wish to go back

i bleed when i cut and i bruise from a hit

like every other, i live with the choices i pick

so hold nothing against me

no weapon shall prosper

i stand but plain,no gold, i am and deserve no oscar

i look like me,you look like you and they look like them

but will forever be human until the end...
