Pinky Promise Nothing

"Pinky promise"

That's what he said in so many different ways.

When you were five and he agreed not to tease you.

"I promise it's not...."

How he told you things weren't as it seemed.

"Trust me!"

Is what he used when you didn't want to.

"Would I ever do that to you?"

To which you replied in silence.

"I respect you too much"

Was used once,

Because he forgot his respect months later.

"Pinky promise"

It would have hurt less if he used simple terms.
