Dancing in the Kitchen

Dancing in the Kitchen

A Poem by WritersBlock21

I never needed anyone in my life before,

So why you?

Is it you in general?

Or how I feel comfortable around you?

I feel comfortable dancing in the kitchen while baking.

That's my little secret that only my family and close friends know.

Not because it's embarrasing,

But because it seems personal.

When I think of baking something,

It's not the pastry I'm thinking about.

I'm thinking about the release of dancing.

It's almost a stress reliever.

Whatever is bottled up,

I get it out by dancing while baking.

I noticed my parents do it too.

I don't think they notice it but I watch.

It used to be them dancing together,

Now my mom dances while painting,

My dad while cooking.

Dancing in the kitchen is just like laughing until you're belly hurts to us.

What I'm trying to say is I don't need you like I need dancing in the kitchen,

But I would love if you would join me.
